Progress Event 2nd April 2015

On 2nd April 2015, we held an event to give an update on progress to date.  It was very well attended, by over 70 representatives of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations working in Liverpool City Region (LCR).   The event was deliberately held at a time and venue that enabled participants to stay on in the afternoon for a Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) update event about plans for the wider ESIF programme and recent calls associated with this.   (This also gave the added advantage of fantastic views of the Razzle Dazzle Ferry on it’s first day on the Mersey!)

Key headlines from the event are:

  • Lottery priorities for BBO funding in LCR are
    • Digital Inclusion
    • Financial Inclusion
  • The Lottery has set an initial indication of the specific need to be addressed through the programme here
  • VOLA with the PDF partnership will be holding an event on 20th May to further the development of potential partnerships – details will be posted on this site w/b 20th April
  • Of the other priority areas recommended in the Autumn 14 consultation, most are included in the proposed procurement of the wider ESIF programme in LCR
  • The Lottery is planning for Programme Launch and release of invitations for outline applications (Stage 1) early June. (Submission end July)
    • Full (Stage 2) submissions Jan 16
  • Partnership applications are expected – research commissioned through PDF will be used to inform development of strong applications
  • There was consensus that, in addition to partnership development activities, it would be useful to arrange other capacity building activities on:
    • Intro to ESF monitoring and reporting requirements –for organisations considering involvement in ESF funded delivery for the first time
    • Impact measurement and Quality Improvement
  • Andy Churchill updated on LCR’s wider ESIF programme
